Zoom Sorry for the bad quality picture, but I was at the thrift store and found this book. It’s called “Facts About Life and Love” and it’s from the 50’s people. The fucking. 50’s. And I saw this. I don’t know, I just liked it and wanted to share.
Possibly no word in the English language is as misunderstood as is homosexuality. In our society we are so afraid of it and we know so little about it that we are apt to become anxious whenever we hear a whisper of homosexual behavior.

I’m someone who believes that EVERYONE is at least a little bit gay.

And a little bit straight.

I have a question for all you raging homosexuals out there (or not raging, you could just be a chill homo)

ANYWAY.

I often hear gay people (usually dudes) say that there is no such thing as bisexuality. I was just curious as to how you can get all upset or insulted when people say that homosexuality is a choice or not real and etc, but then you turn around and and do the same thing to another group?

Not trying to insult anyone. Not trying to start an argument. Simply curious and looking for answers in the place I know best. And now here’s a question mark?

It would appear that some people are confused about my meaning of Kames.

When I say that I love Kames, it does not mean that I want to see a bromance.

It means I am waiting for the episode where James walks in and sees Kendall and just stares so hard at him because he’s so mesmerized. Then Kendall will notice and walk over and just pull James into a long, deep kiss. They’ll pull away all shy-like and just stand there for a moment while everyone stares, and then James will grab Kendall’s hand and they’ll walk away together to go have hot, wild, passionate sex cuddle on the couch.

A conversation about marriage (with some classmates)
Classmate #1: Like, I'm okay with gay people wanting to be with each other. But marriage should be between a guy and a girl.
Classmate #2: I don't even want to see it. Like, it's nasty.
Me: Oh my god! I know! My neighbor was talking about how he and his Jewish girlfriend wanna get married and I was like "Why should you two be allowed to get married?" in my head. I mean, why would they think it was okay for a Christian and a Jew to get married. Disgusting.
Classmates: ....
Me: And let me tell you about this other couple I saw making out at the mall. It was nasty. The boy was white and the girl was black. Can you believe that? Two people of different races being together? That's just wrong.
Classmate #2: What the hell is wrong with you? So what if they want to be together?
Classmate #1: Yeah, there isn't anything wrong with it.
Me: Are you kidding me? It's completely wrong. There is only one kind of marriage that is okay. And that is between a man and a woman of the same race, religious background, with the same income level and from the same place. We wouldn't want kids to think that diversity is okay. God wouldn't appreciate these people ruining the sanctity of marriage.
Classmate #1: Why are you even in this conversation? God loves everyone.
Me: What? So you're telling me that God doesn't care who you marry, because he loves everyone?
Classmate #1: Yeah...
Me: Does he love animals, too?
Classmate #1: He loves human and animals and living creatures all around.
Me: Whoa. That just blew my mind. Well it is a good thing that gay people can't get married then. Because everyone knows that gay people aren't human, or living for that matter. Haha.
Classmate #1: ....
Me: Go choke on a dick you stupid prick.
I got in trouble, but it was worth it ;)

More Than Friends - Chapter 4

I promised some friends I’d have it up, but I’m not very sure about it. I think it was a bit rushed. Anyway, chapter 4.

                                     Chapter 4: Dirty Little Secret

                                                Derek POV

“But it was out of nowhere,” Derek said, lying on his bed while he repeatedly threw a tennis ball against his wall, “He asked. I answered. And then nothing.”

“Really?” Chante asked, throwing some extra blankets on the bed. “Well I’m not really surprised that he brought it up. It had to have been on his mind just as much as it was on yours. But why would he ask you if you were gay when it’s already pretty clear you are.”

“We’re pretending that none of the gay stuff ever happened,” Derek reminded her, “As part of being friends again. Maybe he asked because he wanted to check. You know, because maybe he wants to be…something.”

Chante lied down next to him on the bed and sighed. “Look, I already told you how I feel about the whole thing when you told me that yall had started talking again.”

“Yeah, well, I was a bit too happy to listen to your downer talk. So tell me again,” he whined, putting the tennis ball down.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea for anything to happen between you two right now.”

The pair just stayed quiet for a bit. Chante started following the ridges in the ceiling with her eyes, waiting for Derek to answer. Derek, however, was lost in his own thoughts. He liked Jevon. But Jevon was pretty intent on not being gay. Maybe Chante was right.

                “Why?” He asked her finally.

                “Why what?” She asked back.

“Why do you think me and him are a bad idea?”

“Because he’s too unsure of himself. He can’t accept that he’s gay, and it would be unhealthy for someone like you, who can accept it. He’s…unstable.”

“So if he accepted that he was gay, you’d give us your blessing?” he asked, turning to look at her.

“Maybe. You guys would have to keep it a secret, though, if it was him. Would you be okay with that?” she asked, returning his gaze.

                “Yes.”

The two stayed quiet, staring at each other. Suddenly Derek was pushed off of the bed and hit the floor with a loud thud. Chante laughed and said, “I guess you have my blessing then! Anyway, where’s the remote? I need to watch my future husband!”

Laughing, Derek crawled back onto the bed. “Did you already tell your parents that you’re staying over?”

                “Yep.”

Derek looked at the TV screen as the Batman theme song played throughout the room and he laughed. “You do realize that your future husband is a fictional character?”

“Shhhh. Don’t say things like that!” she playfully snapped at him.

“Speaking of future husbands, how’s the new guy?” Derek asked curiously.

“Damon? He’s cool. We’ve only hung out a few times,” She answered.

Derek could hear the nervousness in her voice despite the fact that she was trying to sound casual. She had been specifically avoiding the topic of Damon since she’d started talking to him. She hadn’t even introduced him to any of their friends.

“Have you two done anything yet?” he asked, silently slapping himself because he hadn’t actually meant to ask that.

She didn’t seem to care as she casually answered, “Nope. The occasional hug in the hallway. Let’s hope he doesn’t expect much.” She half laughed, but it sounded forced. Kind of hollow.

“Oh yeah. I forgot about your chastity belt.” Derek shifted on the bed so that he was laying half under her with his arm around her. “I’m sure he won’t care.”

“Oh shut up,” she laughed, “you don’t even know him yet. How would you know.”

“Speaking of, you need to introduce him to me tomorrow.”

“Okay,” she answered softly, resting against Derek comfortably. She was obviously done talking about him.

Now that the Damon topic was over, Derek’s mind jumped right back to Jevon. He closed his eyes and thought about the boy at practice earlier that evening. He had been great. He was a way better basketball player than he’d been freshman year. And he always managed to look amazing when he played. As the images in his mind got dirtier, Derek quickly pushed the thoughts away before he got a little too excited.

“I can’t stop thinking about him,” Derek whined to Chante.

Apparently, he’d just woken her from drifting off to sleep, because she irritably sat up and glared at him.

“If it’s bothering you so much, just call him and ask what’s going on with you two!” She snapped, picking up her cell phone and pushing it to his face.

Derek grabbed a pillow and smothered it over his face. “I don’t want to!”

“Fine.” She stood up off the bed. “I’ll do it.”

He felt his heart plummet. But before he could stop her, she’d already found Jevon’s name in the contacts list and hit send.

“Stop it!” He said, trying to make a grab for the phone.

“No.” She stepped back a step and pushed him back onto the bed.

Derek closed his eyes, surrendering to the inevitable. Laughing, Chante put the phone on speaker and plopped down onto the bed next to him so that he could hear. After a few rings, they heard the click of the phone signaling someone had answered. Derek felt himself holding his breath. What was Chante going to say? And Jevon? God this is a mistake.

                ‘Hello?’ Both teenagers froze.

Who the fuck is that? Derek’s eyes shot open. This was definitely not Jevon’s voice. Did she click the wrong contact?

‘Um? Chante?’ The mysterious voice asked when neither of the two friends spoke.

“Who is this?” Chante finally asked.

‘This is Shane.’ Derek didn’t recognize the voice, but he knew the name. Suddenly he felt his body growing tense without knowing exactly why.

“How’d you know my name?” He heard Chante ask. She clearly didn’t know him at all.

‘Caller ID.’ Shane chuckled through the phone. How fucking annoying. Everything about Shane was suddenly annoying, bothering Derek more and more every second.

Rolling his eyes, Derek turned away from Chante and onto his side.

“Right. Okay, cool. So where’s Jevon?” Chante asked , confusion evident in her voice.

                ‘He’s in the shower.’

“Isn’t it kind of late for a party?” Chante asked, clearly fishing for the reason the boy was currently at Jevon’s house.

‘Yeah.’ Shane laughed out loud. ‘I’m here for…school work.’

Derek rolled his eyes again. Shane was obviously lying. The stupid son of a bitch. Everyone was quiet and an awkward tension filled the line.

“Um, I’ll just call him later I guess,” Chante said, wanting to hang up very much.

‘Do you want me to take a message? Oh Hey! Jevon’s back!’ Shane excitedly said, clearly happy to be getting away from the conversation. Chante and Derek waited and listened to the conversation taking place on the other end of the line.

                ‘Jevon! Phone! Take it.’

‘Can it wait? I’d like to get dressed.’

                ‘No. Take it.’

‘I can’t talk on the phone and hold the towel at the same time.’

                ‘I’m pretty sure you can.’

                ‘But I won’t.’

‘Fine, your choice. Take your phone now!’

‘Fine. But prepare to see it all hang out.’

‘It’s not like I haven’t see you naked already!’

Derek felt a strange anger boiling up inside of him. It was a giant mess of…something. He couldn’t pinpoint what exactly he was feeling, but he did know that he felt like yelling at Jevon and murdering Shane at the moment. It was a strange, aggressive feeling. He couldn’t even comprehend the conversation he’d just heard. What the fuck were they doing over there?

‘Hello?’ They finally heard a laughing Jevon speak into the phone.

“Jevon! Hey! It’s Chante. And Derek.” Chante choked the words out, putting emphasis on Derek’s name.

Then there was nothing but quiet. Jevon and Shane had stopped laughing. Derek could feel Chante’s leg shaking next to him. Probably with worry. Derek closed his eyes again, waiting for someone to talk and break the tension.

‘Is something up?’ Jevon asked finally, his voice sounding…painfully normal. As if it didn’t matter what he had said with Shane. As if it could have been anyone on the phone, and it wouldn’t have changed anything. As if he was the same as everyone else. ‘I thought you would have left Derek’s house by now, Chante.’

“I’m sleeping over. You’re having your own little sleepover I guess,” she responded, glancing at Derek for a brief second. It just annoyed him at the moment, though, to have her worrying about him. Everything seemed to be annoying him right now.

‘Yeah, Shane is…a friend of mine,’ Jevon explained hesitantly, ‘But what did you call for?’

“I was wondering if you’d accidentally taken my Lit book home with you?” Chante lied. She was good at that. Derek had watched her come up with countless, very convincing lies right on the spot. Some of them were small and simple and insignificant. Others, however, were big and complicated, and he was often amazed that she could keep up and remember it all. He could never decide whether it was an amazing gift or a dangerous curse.

‘No, I didn’t. Sorry,’ Jevon explained.

“It’s cool. I’m sure it’s lying somewhere around here. Nighty night!” Chante was about to hang up the phone when Jevon quickly spoke.

                ‘Derek.’

Derek felt himself stiffen as Chante looked at him. He tried his best to sound normal, but his voice still came out strained. “Yeah?”

‘It’s about tomorrow night. We can’t hang out after the game.’

There was a sharp pain in Derek’s chest.

“Okay.” This time his voice didn’t crack. His voice came out monotonous, without emotion. He wasn’t trying to sound apathetic; it just came out that way. Because apathetic was the last emotion he was feeling right then.

                ‘Sorry,’ Jevon continued, ‘It’s just-‘

“Don’t worry about it, see you later.” Derek grabbed the phone from Chante and hung up. He just felt like going to sleep. Luckily Chante was really good at not being an in your face, nosy bitch.

He watched her get up and move some things around. Then she turned out the light and the TV and lied down with him again.

                “Goodnight,” She said quietly.

                “Night.”

“Does this look right?” Chante asked Derek as they walked into the school. She was referring to a piece of paper that Derek hadn’t even glanced at.

“Sure,” he answered. He didn’t really want to be at school. He wanted to be at home sleeping. He felt like shit. Unfortunately, he couldn’t skip out because they had an important game today, and it would his first game since he hurt his arm.

Suddenly he felt himself get shoved into the row of black lockers.

“Look. If you’re gonna mope around, you need to at least talk about your problems. Confide in me. Otherwise, if you’re not going to say anything, you need to stand tall and pull a smile out of your ass and onto your face!” Chante snapped at him.

He looked at her with a shrug of his shoulders and replied, “I’m fine.” His pout was still intact.

With a frustrated sigh she turned and started to walk away. “I have to get to class.”

                And then she was gone.

He let out a sigh and started walking to his own class. History. I’m being stupid. He stopped at the entrance to the classroom, took a deep breath, and put on a copy of his usual carefree smile. Everything went as usual. He talked with some friends. Some people tried to copy homework before class started. But then the late bell rang, signaling the start of first period and he actually remembered who else was in his history class.

Jevon walked in and sat down in his usual seat next to Derek, and Lexy followed and sat behind him. Fuck, he did not want to deal with either of them.

“Dude, what the hell? Why haven’t you been answering my calls?” Jevon asked, turning to look at Derek as the bell rang.

“Sorry. I didn’t know you called.” Derek’s smile had disappeared and now he felt irritation flowing through his system.

“That’s bull shit. Is this about tonight? ‘Cause I said I was so-“

“I don’t give a shit about tonight, Jevon,” He snapped.

“We can hang out tomorrow night?”

“Would you just shut up. I don’t care when we hang out. It’s fine if you can’t hang out tonight.”

“Of course he can’t hang out tonight. He’ll probably be too busy fucking another girl,” Lexy interrupted them with a smile on her face.

“Shut the fuck up, Lexy. Stay out of my business.” Jevon didn’t even try and hide the hate in his voice today.

“You sure you want me to leave you alone? Or would you rather go have sex again?” She taunted him.

Derek’s breathing hitched. What did she just say? Lexy apparently saw the confused look on Derek’s face, because she said, “He didn’t tell you? What a good friend he is. Yeah, Jevon and I had sex. Or more correctly, a ‘five-minute fuck’.”

Jevon was about to say something to her, but Derek stood up and said , “Both of you just shut the fuck up.” Then he walked out of the classroom shouting “Nurse!” over his shoulder to the teacher. He just needed to walk for a while. It made his head hurt to think about Jevon and Lexy. It hurt his head to think about why it happened. He didn’t want to think about it, but the images of what could have happened just kept pouring into his head.

Suddenly he was tired. No. He was exhausted. The anger and pain were mixing together and causing that strange aggressive feeling again. He still couldn’t pinpoint what it was, though. As he walked into the cafeteria, he sat down and groaned to himself.

“Derek, what the hell is going on with you?” Derek’s body froze at the sound of Jevon’s voice. He really didn’t want to deal with him right now.

When Derek didn’t respond, Jevon spoke again. “Derek.”

Jevon sat down next to him and put his hand on Derek’s shoulder, only to have Derek snatch his shoulder away and say, “Just go away.”

               “C’mon. We’re best friends.”

               “No. We’re not.”

There was a long silence as Derek realized what he’d said. But he didn’t take it back. He knew it was true. Jevon, however, looked confused. His body tightened as he asked, “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means that we’re not best friends anymore. We barely act like friends at all! I’m sick of being around you!” He wasn’t really yelling, but the words were coming out harsh. Derek felt himself let go, and everything just poured out. “I hate thinking about you! But I do! Every second! I’m gay now, Jevon. And it’s your fault! If you hadn’t started it, I would never have known! And we could both living in ignorant bliss, fucking girls and being best friends! But apparently we weren’t very good friends to begin with, considering you were able to go two god damn weeks ignoring my life! And in those two weeks I kept convincing myself that you’d come around. You’d realize you were gay, too, and we’d… I don’t know! We’d something! But no. Instead you’re too busy going around and having sex with Lexy!”

“It was one time, and I don’t even li-“

“You don’t like her! I know! See, that’s just it! You have sex with people you don’t even like! And when I think about that, it makes sense that you did…things with me! Because you don’t have to like me! You just needed someone to blow you because you were horny. It didn’t have to be me!”

“That’s not how it is! Just let me talk!”

“Or maybe you are gay! Maybe you do like dicks! Maybe it’s just me that you don’t like.” Derek’s words were filled with venom. “You suddenly became friends with Shane. Shane! Since when did you ever hang out with Shane! The only thing I can come up with is that you’re having some good old fun with him in bed, too. Is that what you do? Have sex with all of your best friends?”

“Shut the fuck up!” Jevon interrupted, “I don’t even know why you’re bringing Shane up! I’m aloud to hang out with other people Derek. I’m not your boyfriend! I’m not gay. And I don’t know what that fag loving Chante has been putting into your head, but you’re not gay either.”

“Look. Just don’t talk to me! If you can’t admit you’re gay, that’s your problem. But don’t tell me what I am!”

“Well someone has to knock some sense into you! Listen to yourself! Where did all of this even come from?!” Jevon asked angrily.

“It came from you! My head hurts! I feel sick inside! There’s this strange blend of anger and pain twirling inside of me that I don’t. Get. It’s chaos. You keep me up at night just because I dream about that one fucking night we had! You give me mixed signals! You confuse me! And listen to me!” Derek pointed at himself. “You have me sounding like some crazy, whiny, bitchy woman! So you know what, just go. Don’t talk to me. Stay away from me. Go be a closeted gay jock and secretly fuck Shane. Let me forget about you! Maybe I’ll even-“ He paused shortly and took a breath before continuing, “-even get a boyfriend. You’re not good for me to be around.”

“You don’t get to act like you’re the only victim here.” Jevon spoke angrily, but his voice was shaky at the same time. He grabbed Derek by the collar and pulled him up.

For a quick second, Derek thought that Jevon was going to kiss him. A whole picture-perfect movie-moment popped into his head of them both roughly crashing their lips together and making out right there. But then he felt Jevon’s fist pound into his stomach, and the image immediately vanished. The pain seared through him and he hunched over slightly form the blow. He watched as Jevon walked away with his fists clenched at his sides.

Derek’s energy was officially gone. He made his way to the locker room and took a nap on the couch inside, trying his hardest to erase the whole morning from his mind.

One 45 minute nap, one awkwardly quiet lunch with the basketball team, four painfully boring classes, and one annoying coach’s speech later, Derek found himself sitting in the locker room with his number 5 jersey on. The rest of the team was currently dressed and they all sat on the couch praying. That’s what they did before games. They were only minutes away from going out onto the court and warming up, and Derek was more nervous than he’d ever been in his life. Every little thing that could be stressful about that day was happening. For the first time in a long time, his arm actually hurt. And it was probably all in his head, but his arm just kept on throbbing and sending surges of pain up through it. He was also starting. He hadn’t played in a few weeks, and he was starting. Stressful. He was also starting with his ex-best friend Jevon. He and Jevon hadn’t even looked at each other since that morning. Plus, he was also all pent up with tension and unresolved issues because he hadn’t been able to bring himself to vent to anyone.

With a quick ‘Amen’, the team filed into the gym and began their warm-up routine. As the music played, Derek found himself calming down. And before he knew it, they were standing around the circle about to start. He looked out to the crowd and found his parents, Chante, Ciara, and Angelo. Then, sparing a glance towards Jevon, he noticed the black boy’s eyes were also on the crowd. Derek followed his line of vision and saw exactly what Jevon was smirking at. Or rather, who Jevon was smirking at. Shane. Mother fucker.

“You nervous?” He heard his teammate ask him quietly.

“Nope. I just found a new source of inspiration for a whole new level of aggression.” Derek grinned and took his spot. The ref threw the ball into the air and that was that. The game went great. Derek’s arm stopped hurting. He was playing as if he’d never had to bench. On the court, him and Jevon were teammates, regardless of what happened off the court.

The buzzer sounded throughout the gym and cheers were heard throughout the crowd as the final score read 43 to 39. They had won. After the giant dog pile of purple and white jerseys on top of him and Jevon, he glanced at Shane. The aggressive feeling that had been haunting him all day was back. Only this time he knew what is was. And this time it helped him play a great game. Because no matter what he said to Jevon, Derek was just jealous. Extremely jealous of the thought that Jevon chose Shane as his dirty little secret instead of him.

                                           Chante POV

Chante plopped down onto her bed. Alone. She hadn’t been alone on a Friday night in quite a while. None the less, here she was. Pajamas on, chip bag in hand, Scooby Doo on the TV, and her lying in bed at 10:30. After the basketball game, she had congratulated Derek and then left. She asked if Derek wanted to come and talk, but he said he’d rather just go home and sleep. She was fine with that. She’d been exhausted lately. Exhausted with too much worry. She was worried about Derek and the whole gay-thing. She was also worrying about Ciara. She’d been acting strange lately.

As she lied back on her pillow, she heard the vibration of her phone. Groaning loudly, she sat up and grabbed her phone off of her bedside table. She smiled as she read the screen.

‘Hey you. How was the game?’

It was Damon. They’d been texting and talking on the phone for past few days that they’d known each other. She…liked the guy. Liked in the sense he’s a good guy. Her feelings for him were unknown at the moment, though. He was cute, very chill, sweet, funny, blah blah blah. He was too perfect right now. She had yet to see one of his flaws. And it’s not like she was looking for a flaw as an excuse to leave or something. She’s not one of those people. The lack of a flaw bothered her because everyone has flaws. It’s human. So if he really was as flawless as he seemed, she’d have to assume he was an alien. Which is what she’d been secretly calling him in her head actually. She’d been forced to introduce him to her friends at school today, too. It went okay. They seemed to like him enough. Whatever, though. She had started talking to him with the hopes that he would change up her life a little. So far there was no such change.

With a sigh, she texted back, ‘Good. We won. Fun night. Tired night. I’m actually in bed now.’

A couple minutes later the phone vibrated again. ‘Sorry :( Talk later?’

She looked at the phone and thought for a second, then typed, ‘Hang tomorrow?’

She held her breath unconsciously until she got the response. ‘Yes :) I’ll call you.’

                ‘Cool. Night ^-^’

                ‘Nite.’

Smiling she set the phone back on the night stand and within minutes she was sound asleep.

The next day was pretty good.  She talked to Derek. He wasn’t leaving the house. Probably moping. Angelo was on a date. He needed one. He really wanted a boyfriend. Ciara hadn’t said much, but she was over at another girl’s house. Chante didn’t know the girl. Chante’s own date had gone good. It was…perfect. Painfully, painfully perfect. He was a gentleman. He was like prince charming and your knight in shining armor wrapped into one ultra-Adonis. It had been a day date. They went to a movie, then had lunch, and then went window shopping around the outlet mall. He dropped her back off at home around dinner time and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Chante couldn’t take it. There was something severely wrong with this dude. She’d contemplated many ideas that he could be. But only one stuck out as obvious. And it was just her luck. He must be gay.

                                               Derek POV

It was Sunday night and Derek hadn’t left his house all weekend. Even he thought that it was ridiculous, and he was the one moping. But every time he went to leave, he’d stop at the door, turn around, and go back to his room. He’d made a huge mistake. He had convinced himself that he shouldn’t have blown up on Jevon and that they were done as friends forever.

That’s why Derek was surprised he got a text from Jevon asking to meet at the park down the street. He quickly grabbed a jacket and threw on some shoes, then set out. When he got there, Jevon was on one the swings. So he sat down in the swing next to the boy and waited.

After a few minutes, Jevon finally started to talk. “I’m sorry.”

“Me too. I shouldn’t have said those things. We’re friends. Best friends. That’s how it should stay.” Derek didn’t want to say these words, but it’s what needed to be said.

“No. We haven’t been acting like friends. Because…things have happened that weren’t very…friend-like.” Jevon struggled to get his words out. Derek was stunned. It seemed like Jevon was actually about to talk about it. About everything. After a deep breath, Jevon continued, “I don’t know what to say to you. I don’t really have any organized thoughts in my head. I just texted you without thinking and now I’m just going with the flow.”

Derek swallowed the lump in his throat. This was either going to be really awesome, or so bad that he’d cry. Jevon continued, though. “So…I. God. Okay. You’re gay?”

                Derek nodded his head.

                “And you like…me?”

Derek hesitantly nodded his head again.

                “Okay.”

There was silence. Jevon was staring at the ground. After a few long minutes of no one talking, Derek said, “I know that it’s gonna be weird. But I’m not asking for an answer. I just…want to be friends again.”

                “But I don’t. I can’t be friends with you.”

Derek’s heart dropped. He felt an explosion in the back of his mind and the familiar pain in his chest.

“I can’t be friends with you, Derek. You’re gay.” He paused, took a deep breath, and said, “And I might be, too.”

Derek blinked. Did he hear that correctly? Holy mother fucker, Jevon just admitted it! What should he do? He didn’t know how to react. So instead of saying anything, he just sat there and waited for Jevon to continue.

                “I don’t think that I like dudes,” Jevon stated, “But…I do…like you.”

And then Jevon was standing up and stepping in front of Derek. Before Derek could actually comprehend everything that was going on, Jevon pressed their lips together lightly and pulled back quickly. His face was three shades of red with embarrassment. When he finally processed that this was really happening, Derek stood up and pulled Jevon into another kiss. This one was more passionate, though, and lasted much much longer. In that moment, there was only the two of them. Every other thing and person left Derek’s mind and he focused all his attention on the boy in front of him.

When they pulled apart, Jevon spoke again. “I’m sorry to do this to you, but…can we keep this-“ He stopped.

Derek understood, though, and nodded. “Our secret.”  Jevon nodded with relief until Derek continued, “On one condition.”

“What would that be?” Jevon asked nervously.

“It happens more often than every few weeks.”

Both boys smiled awkwardly and laughed. After another hour or so of making out and talking, the two boys went to their separate houses.

Derek felt dizzy. A good kind of dizzy. He lied down on his bed, still in his day clothes. Not even caring to change, he turned out the light, pulled the blanket over him, and drifted off to sleep, praying every second that he wouldn’t wake up and find that it had all been a dream.

Derek had never been more excited for school than he was that Monday. As the bell for first period rang, he grinned at Jevon and Jevon grinned back at him. Wow. Jevon was his. It didn’t matter if no one else knew because he did know. His thoughts were interrupted as the teacher addressed the two boys.

“Are you two talking again?” asked their teacher, Mr. Dunstan, as he stood up to start the lesson. “Because you two have changed friendship status for the past few weeks.”

“Yeah. We’re friends again,” Derek laughed.

Jevon looked at him sideways, then looked at their teacher and said, “Actually I’ve got one more problem. Can we go resolve it quick before it explodes into something big?”

“I don’t see why not,” answered Mr. Dunstan with a shrug and a smirk, “After the way you two played last night, go ahead. You’ve got 10 minutes.”

Derek was confused, but went along with Jevon into the hallway. Jevon led him into one of the corridors leading upstairs, and stopped at the bottom of the staircase. Then he turned to Derek and smirked with his hands in his pockets and asked, “So, we’re friends again are we?”

Derek suddenly felt nervous as he nodded.

“Really? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure we’re something very much different than ‘friends’,” Jevon said, grabbing Derek by his shirt and pushing him onto the staircase. Then slowly, he started to nip at the white boy’s neck.

“S…stop it. We’re gonna get caught,” Derek muttered, making an attempt to push the other boy off of him.

“So? That just makes it more fun,” he answered, kissing all over his neck. Then through his grin, he whispered, “Don’t you feel the rush?”

Derek was about to continue protesting, but he stopped short when he felt a warm tongue tickling his ear. Then a gasp escaped his lips when he felt his shirt get untucked from his pants and a cold hand rub their way up his chest until they found erect nipples. He couldn’t contain himself anymore. Reaching his hand behind the dominant boy’s neck, he pulled Jevon down and pressed their lips roughly together. Jevon grinned and deepened the kiss. Their tongues fought for dominance in the kiss as Jevon moved his hand from under Derek’s shirt and began to work at undoing his belt. Derek felt the excitement surge through his body. Not only from the excitement and anticipation of what his secret lover was about to do to him, but the excitement that they could get caught at any moment. Derek let a moan escape from his lips, which made Jevon grin even more.

“Well, well. You guys have no shame at all.” Both the boys froze in their spots. Despite the thrill they got from the possibility of getting caught, neither of them actually thought they’d get caught.

“Anyway, sorry to interrupt, but your teacher told me I could find you in the hall, and I heard voices, so I just…really? In the hallway? On the staircase? At school?” Chante scolded, a worried look of irritation on her face. “Get up.”

Both of them breathed with a little relief. Thank god it had been Chante. Anyone else and they would have been screwed. Jevon visibly pouted as he brushed his shirt off and followed her pointed finger back towards his classroom. Derek stayed behind, tucking his shirt back in and fixing his hair. Chante just looked at him, the worried look still plastered on her face.

“What?” He asked, suddenly feeling somewhat guilty.

“I don’t like this. I’m worried about you.”

“I know I know, but… don’t. Worry I mean. It’s just… just don’t worry. I have it under control,” He choked out, not even sounding sure to himself.

After a few moments, Chante smiled a little and said, “Okay. Then on a bright note, I hope you had fun.”

“I did. Very much. Too bad you interrupted before we got to the best part,” Derek grinned back.

“Well, Good. Now come on. I’m doing an article on the basketball team for Lit, and I need to interview you,” she explained, guiding him to her own classroom. “I just wish I could print what I just saw.”

“Too bad you can’t. Because we’re kind of a secret.”

“No way!” Chante fake gasped and they laughed again. Just be careful,” She warned him.

                “I will.”

More Than Friends - Chapter 3

Chapter 3. I like this one. I think. Lol Please excuse my terrible ability to write hetero sex scenes. I promise I will get better at them :)

                               Chapter 3: I’m not gay, I’m normal.

                                               Jevon POV

As the water rushed down onto his face, Jevon groaned in irritation. He looked down at his erection and with a sigh he turned the knob until it hit the blue, causing the water to fall onto him like ice.

It had happened again. The stupid dreams that he’d been having. The ones about him. Jevon didn’t understand why he was having these dreams about Derek. It didn’t even make sense to him. He didn’t talk to Derek anymore, really. Maybe he was just really horny? Nope, he’d already thought of that. But every time a girl tried to have sex with him, he just brushed it off. That doesn’t mean he didn’t welcome anyone who wanted to blow him off or jack him off, but he hadn’t had actual sex in… a while. It just didn’t appeal to him lately. He was starting to worry. Maybe he was depressed. Maybe he should see a psychologist. He hadn’t been feeling very good. He hadn’t been feeling very normal. The most normal he’d felt in the past week-ish was at the club dancing with Chante. Which was strange because he hadn’t hung out with Chante in over a year. But he’d been noticing her a lot lately. With Derek. He’d been noticing how she and Derek were suddenly best friends again. Out of nowhere. But whatever. Derek had been at the club, too. Jevon couldn’t remember exactly. He just remembered seeing him there, probably with Chante and her group of friends. He wondered if Derek was the reason Chante came up to him suddenly. It hadn’t crossed his mind before, but she was probably trying to distract his attention. For whatever reason.

Stepping out of the shower he examined himself in the mirror. He always looked at himself naked. He was one of those people that looked good, and knew it. The rest of his morning routine was pretty normal. Fifty push-ups, get dressed, eat breakfast, and then go to school. Sometimes he drove to school, sometimes he took the bus. It all depended on the day. Lately, though, he’d been driving every day. He didn’t want to see Derek.

After parking his car at the school, he went into the basketball gym to shoot some hoops. This was his life. Sports. Staying in shape. Eating right. This was how he was gonna get to college. This was what he had to do. Or at least, that’s what he grew being told by his dad. His mom had died when he was four.

Throughout the day, he spent time with friends. Mainly his basketball and football teammates. No one really super important, though. He misses hanging out with Derek. They’d been close friends so long that he’d forgotten what life was like before they spent every second together.

At the end of the day, he had basketball practice. Derek was still sitting today, but coach said he’d be practicing by tomorrow and playing in the next game. Jevon was happy for him, but didn’t say anything and still avoided all eye contact with him.

Jevon decided to chill at the school for a while before going home. He was happily sleeping in a nice spot under the bleachers where no one could see him when suddenly he felt pressure on his chest.

“Hey Jevon!” He opened his eyes and saw the last person he wanted to see right then. Or ever. And she was sitting on his chest as if they were friends.

“What do you want Lexy?” he asked, not bothering to try and get her off of him.

“I’m bored. Derek has been avoiding me. I thought you might know why?” She looked at him questionably.

“We haven’t been very chatty lately,” Jevon answered.

“Yeah, I’d heard, but I didn’t think it was true. What happened? Did y’all get in a fight?” She asked, starting to mess with his shirt.

“Is it your business?” He asked, more annoyed every second.

“Don’t be so mean, I was just asking. I don’t know why you hate me so much! Anyway, you have no idea why he might be avoiding me?” She asked, bringing the conversation back to Derek.

“Maybe he realized what a stupid whore you are and decided he didn’t like you either.” Right as the words slipped through his lips, he felt a sharp slap on his face.

That was it. He was pissed. Grabbing both her wrists, he turned them over and slammed her to the ground roughly. He had her pinned as he hovered over her. “Don’t touch me you stupid bitch.”

“Why the fuck do you always treat me so bad? I know that you secretly want me, Jevon. Stop acting like a kid!” She yelled, trying and failing to get free of his grasp.

“I want you? What makes you think that?” He asked laughing.

“I can feel it? Why else would you have me pinned so sexually to the ground?” She spurt out, once again failing to get free.

“Sexual? This isn’t sexual. My kind of sex is nice and rough. You’re pretty little bitch ass couldn’t handle my kind of sexual. You couldn’t even keep up.” Jevon didn’t really know what he was saying anymore. He was just talking. Just going off of whatever she said or did.

“I can keep up with anything you do!” Lexy countered.

“You tell yourself that all you want, princess.”

“Then just do it. Fuck me! I can keep up!” She half shouted.

He just laughed and then looked straight at her. “You horny bitch. Was this your plan all along? You want to have sex because you think it’ll get Derek’s attention, don’t you? Well he won’t give a shit. And sorry for you, but I don’t want you.”

“I don’t need you to want me, I need you to have sex with me god dammit.”

And then for some reason he crashed his lips onto hers. Maybe because he was bored. Maybe because he just wanted to have sex. Maybe because she actually had a good plan, and he thought sleeping with her would get Derek’s attention. Maybe not, though.

The kiss was rough and hard, without emotion. As he moved his tongue inside her mouth, he felt her purr into his. He quickly started undoing her belt, breaking the kiss for only a second to pull off her shorts and quickly toss her shirt. Lips back on hers, he reached behind her back and unclipped the pink lace bra she was wearing, and tossed it next to her shirt. And then with one quick removal of her equally pink panties, she was naked. Lying completely exposed. Jevon had to admit, even if she was a stupid and bitchy whore, she at least had a body. Snapping back to the task at hand, he brought her right nipple into his mouth and started sucking. She immediately responded, moaning loudly and bucking into him. He didn’t really care much for the foreplay; he wanted to get this over with. But he had a little problem that stopped him from doing so. The kind of problem where his dick wasn’t hard. None the less, he continued. He removed his tongue from her right nipple and started sucking on the other one.

“W…wait! Jevon! Stop!” She cried, pushing at him.

Angrily, he stopped what he was doing and gave an irritated, “What.”

“Why are we going so fast?” She asked, almost panting.

“Because. We’re not making love. We’re not even having sex. What we’re doing is having a five minute fuck. Now shut up.” And with that he was back at it. While he licked and nipped at her skin, he slammed two fingers into her already wet pussy. She almost moaned loudly with pleasure, but held it back by biting her bottom lip.

“I s…still think we could at least take our t…time!” She bucked as he moved his fingers skillfully inside of her.

“I don’t give a shit what you think, bitch.” Then he removed his fingers and watched her back arch in ecstasy as he plunged his tongue into her pussy.

“Derek always listened while we had sex!” She whined before moaning loudly again.

Jevon pulled his tongue back and said, “Yeah, but Dere-Bear isn’t as good with his mouth.”

He grinned before returning to his task of eating her out, licking as he plunged in with his tongue. Then it happened. An image of Derek’s mouth on his dick that he’d seen so many times in his dreams popped into his brain. He groaned into her, getting him another almost scream from the girl underneath him. Then he felt his dick bulge in his jeans. Well now at least I can finish this. He removed his tongue from her and sat up, taking a second to watch her tired form pant as he pulled down his pants and boxers to his ankles. So much for being able to keep up with me.

He reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a condom. Once it was on, he positioned himself over top of her and said, “Tell me when you’re ready.”

She nodded and said, “On three then. One, two, th-” Her words slurred into some sort of incoherent sound as Jevon slammed into her. She was panting and shouted, “Wait! I need to adjust you ass hole!”

“I told you that I played rough you stupid whore.” He quickly pulled out, slamming his dick in and out repeatedly. She couldn’t protest or bitch anymore. She couldn’t even speak as random moans and noises slipped from her lips. And every time she was able to catch up with his rhythm, he’d pound faster and harder.

“C’mon you stupid bitch, hurry and finish!” Almost as if his command had worked, she arched her back once more, letting out a gasp as her fluid surrounded Jevon’s cock. Barely a second after, Jevon pounded harshly one more time into her, spilling his own cum into her and riding out his own orgasm. Finally. Jevon pulled out quickly, bringing his pants back up to his hips. Then he stood up and started to walk away.

“Whoa! What the hell!? Ur just gonna leave?” She asked in disbelief, still naked with the exception of her underwear.

“I told you, princess. Five minute fuck. No emotion. We orgasm and then we leave. Next time don’t be such a whore and let a guy who doesn’t even like you fuck you senseless under the school bleachers.” Jevon walked straight to his car and pulled out of the school, heading straight for home. He chose to completely ignore the only reason he was able to get hard earlier was because Lexy had brought up Derek.

When he got home, Jevon’s mind finally calmed down and he lied down to relax on his bed. Did he really just sleep with Lexy? It felt like it hadn’t even happened.

Sighing, he clicked the TV over to SpongeBob. Then he pulled out his homework and after finishing, he went and worked out some.

He needed to do something. Lately he’d just been going through the motions. It felt as if there was some giant gaping hole in his life. Maybe he should make up with Derek. He wanted to. He could admit that much. He didn’t even know why they weren’t talking. So they had some drunken incidents? It wasn’t really a big deal. Tomorrow. I’ll talk to him tomorrow.

The next day came and brought the same morning erection, the same cold shower, the same drive to school, the same superficial conversations, the same classes, and just the same routine all around. At the end of the day, Jevon walked into the gym ready to get changed and relieve some stress at practice. Instead, he found his team huddled around their coach.

“Good, Jevon’s here. So the game is on Friday. You’ve all been working hard. Today, go ahead and go home to rest. Come back tomorrow and we’ll work our asses off for the game,” their coach announced, commanding the team managers to collect the basketballs everyone had gotten out.

The team erupted into a series of ‘yes!’s and ‘Finally!’s as they dispersed. Jevon sighed. He’d been looking forward to practice. He didn’t really want to go home yet. He picked up a basketball, but was distracted when he noticed Derek walking towards the door.

“Derek!” He felt the name roll of his lips before he could stop it.

Derek turned around, looking completely shocked and surprised. “Hey Jevon, something wrong?” He asked, even his voice filled with shock.

Jevon said nothing at first. He just observed Derek for a second. His brunette hair had gotten a little longer. His eyes were the same, though. Hazel, with specs of blue that hypnotized you. Then when he noticed Derek shuffling his feet, he snapped back to the situation.

“Uh. Friday. We have the game. You wanna come over afterwards and hang?” Jevon asked, somewhat awkwardly.

“Yeah.” The answer had come out almost immediately after Jevon had asked, loudly and excited. Then, in a more calm and casual voice, Derek said, “Yeah, sounds good.”

Relief spreading across both boys’ features, they bumped fists and then laughed at how lame they were for doing so. In that one moment everything seemed normal again, like there had never been any weird shit between them.

“Uh, so do you wanna come over? It’s just me and Chante,” Derek asked.

“No, I think I’m gonna hang out here and shoot for a while,” he answered, pounding his hand on the basketball. “How ‘bout tomorrow? I can drive us after practice?”

“Sure. Cool. I’ll see you tomorrow,” Derek said hesitantly, but it had almost come out as a question.

“Yeah. Tomorrow.” Jevon grinned at him.

Jevon turned around and heard a short “what are you so chipper about?” from what sounded like Chante. Then he heard the doors close and he felt himself smile. He felt great suddenly. It was as if the giant hole inside of him was gone. Finally, they were friends again and could pretend like the last two weeks hadn’t even happened.

Except those dreams I have every night.

Nope. He wasn’t even going to think about it. He was about to shoot the ball when it was suddenly pulled from his grip. He looked and saw that it was his coach who had taken it.

“We’re closing the gym. A day off is meant for resting, Jevon. That includes you,” his coach scolded as he walked away.

Sighing, Jevon grabbed his bags and walked out to the back of the school. After looking around for a second, he found a nice secluded tree to sit under. He didn’t want to go home, yet. He should have just gone with Derek and Chante.

He grinned as he thought about Derek. And then he thought about his friendship with Derek. He used to get confused because of the weird feelings connected to Derek. That’s where all the problems came from. So now, all he had to do was ignore and deny things so that everything stayed simple. Sure, he was happy when he thought about Derek. Why? Who cares. That was his new philosophy.

Suddenly he was brought back to his most recent dream, where Derek was very naked and very tied up, begging him to touch him. They’re getting really weird lately. And then he felt it. God mother fucker.

He just sat there for a second with his eyes closed, deciding how he should handle his now erect dick. “Whoa now, excited about something are we?” He heard a playful voice and his eyes shot open.

“Shut up.” Jevon quickly sat up and covered the bulge with his back pack.

“Hey now, I’m not judging. So what were you thinking about that got you so excited?”

The boy’s name was Shane. He was a junior, one year above Jevon. Jevon didn’t really know him because he didn’t play any sports. They just had a lot of the same friends, so he did see the Asian boy around a lot. The dude had…an interesting style. He wore a lot of bright colors, and then a lot of black at the same time. His hair was short and black with a slightly longer green mohawk . He had tons of friends, and yet no one really seemed to know much about him. The only obvious things known were that he seemed pretty rich, got great grades, and whenever he wasn’t socializing and charming everyone around him, he had his face in a notebook that no one had ever looked in.

“A friend.” Jevon stated, putting his guard up.

“Must be a pretty special friend.” Shane laughed out loud, taking a seat by Jevon.

“What exactly do you want?” Jevon asked, suddenly feeling exhausted.

“Not much. Saw you and thought that I’d make a new friend.”

                “Oh really now?”

“No.” The Asian laughed out loud again. “I came over with a purpose. Your ‘friend’ made this purpose so much easier to attain.”

“What?” And then there were lips on his. Just a short peck. Jevon didn’t move as Shane nervously returned to his own bubble. He didn’t know what to think. He didn’t know what had just happened.

When Jevon didn’t do anything, Shane suddenly placed a hand on Jevon’s still hard cock and slowly kissed him again. Jevon instinctively flinched away from the hand and whacked the Asian’s head.

“Stop it!” He snapped, realizing just how child-like his reaction was. What was wrong with him? Then the hand was back, slowly starting to rub. He didn’t react right away, but then he flinched away again and whined, “Dude! What are you doing?”

“Nothing.” Shane’s face was dead serious.

Jevon could feel his erection start throbbing, craving to be touched. His mind felt dazed. He felt almost like….he wanted whatever was about to happen to happen. It wasn’t the same feeling he’d gotten when this situation had come up with Derek. It was just….he just wanted this boy to continue.

The two guys just sat there in silence for a moment, looking at each other. Then, slowly, Shane reached and put one hand on the back of Jevon’s neck. Jevon felt himself tense up, but he didn’t move. He could feel his heart pounding rapidly throughout his whole body as Shane moved closer until their faces were only inches apart. Warm breath tickled his face.

“I’m not gay,” was all Jevon could say.

Keeping their eyes locked, Shane simply said, “Neither am I.”

“I don’t have feelings for you. It won’t mean anything,” Jevon almost whispered, suddenly feeling a little woozy.

“I don’t want to go out Jevon. I don’t want your love. This doesn’t have to mean anything.” Anthony never broke eye contact as he spoke. He didn’t smile or laugh and Jevon could feel the seriousness in his voice. Then Jevon saw the awkward nervous-ness disappear from Shane’s body and get replaced with confidence, almost arrogance.

Then the soft lips were brushing against his own. Jevon pulled away fiercely, but Shane tightened his grip on the neck that was now damp with nervous sweat. After letting Jevon breathe a few more times, he pulled Jevon’s face roughly to his own once again, crashing their lips together. This time, Jevon didn’t pull away. He kissed back hesitantly. But as soon as he felt the warm tongue snake out and lick his bottom lip, his instincts told him to push away. Going against his instincts, he allowed the tongue inside his mouth.

What the hell was he doing? This wasn’t okay! It needed to stop!

Feeling Jevon’s body tense, Shane pulled away and commanded, “Stop thinking.” And then he pushed Jevon’s back against the tree so that he was on top of Jevon.

Wincing from the slight pain, Jevon took another look at Shane’s grey eyes. The eyes of a predator stalking its prey. There was no way out of this. Or maybe there was and he just didn’t want to get out of this. He might as well do as he was told.

As he closed his eyes and took a deep breathe, he felt the lips on his own again. Without taking the time to process what exactly was happening, he let his body respond on its own by deepening the kiss. He could feel Shane grin against the kiss. The feel of the expert tongue in his mouth drove him wild.

Then the lips were gone. Jevon opened his eyes to find the Asian boy removing his shirt and undoing his belt. Jevon quickly reciprocated the action. After he’d gotten his pants off, leaving his boxers intact, Shane nearly jumped on him, pinning Jevon’s arms above his head. Then he began kissing the black boy’s neck. Jevon groaned softly as Shane’s tongue grazed a spot right near his adam’s apple. Feeling the younger boy’s excitement, Shane focused on this spot. First he bit down lightly, and then slowly sucked on the spot, leaving a deep red purple spot in place of his tongue. Jevon clearly enjoyed it, because he had started grinding his hard groin into Shane’s own dick.

“You’re pretty eager,” Shane chuckled. Pressing his body down against Jevon’s, Shane grinned at all of Jevon’s reactions to the friction between the two groins. He grabbed hold of the elastic along the caramel skin and quickly pulled the boxers down. Then slowly, almost teasingly, he brought the erect dick up to his mouth. First he licked it from the base to the tip, and then he engulfed it in his mouth. As he bobbed up and down, Jevon wriggled with pleasure, tangling his hand in the Asian’s hair.

Then Shane stopped. Sitting up, he brought two fingers up and shoved them into Jevon’s mouth. “Suck.”

There was something arousing about being man-handled, so Jevon did as he was told and wet the fingers in his mouth with his tongue.

Shane took his fingers back, smiling deviously at the boy below him. Without warning, Shane shoved his index finger into Jevon’s hole, eliciting a loud moan from him. Then after entering another finger, he began scissoring the boy beneath him.

“God, you’re tight.” Jevon bucked his hips roughly, grinding up into Shane. Moans escaped his lips, and then he felt himself saying, “More.”

Shane chuckled again. Then he took his other hand and grabbed Jevon’s still hard, wet cock. As Shane teased the dick and continued his scissoring, Jevon’s whole body erupted with pleasure. Within a few minutes, Jevon felt the familiar rush of pleasure forming.

“I’m…!” he gasped, getting his point across without actually saying it. Shane nodded, pumping the dick faster. Jevon gripped the grass underneath him so tight that his knuckles turned white, and his back arched as the white substance sprayed both of their chests white.

After cleaning themselves off and putting their clothes back on, they just stayed there in silence. Shane looked over and saw that Jevon was lying down on his back, hands covering his eyes. What the fuck? I’m such a fag. A disgusting fag. And why do I keep having sex on school property. I’m a hoe. A fag of a hoe!

“Stop it.” Shane’s voice caught Jevon’s attention.

                “Stop what?” He questioned.

“Stop being disgusted with yourself. There’s nothing wrong with what you just did. And I don’t think you’re really upset because you just let a guy do you. I think you’re upset because it was the wrong guy.” Then he was walking away, and Jevon sat up and sighed.

The wrong guy…? An image of Derek popped into his mind. He felt a sharp pain in his chest and stomach. Whatever. Jevon got up and left to his car, suddenly feeling Déjà Vu of the previous day. He suddenly felt so tired as he pulled out if the school. He just wanted to go home and sleep, which is why he was surprised when he turned off his car and found himself in front of Derek’s house.

“Alright! Good work! Go get changed and get a good night’s sleep!” Their coach commanded them. The team filed into the locker room. Jevon walked up and hit Derek with a towel.

“You’ve gotten sloppy while you were out!” He teased the brunette.

“And yet I could still whoop your ass!” Derek joked back.

The two joked around as they got changed.

“By the way, you sure your okay with Chante coming, too. I know y’all don’t really hang out anymore,” Derek asked, collecting his backpack.

“I don’t mind. We’re going to yur house, dude. So it’s your choice. besides, you haven’t talked to her in how long? And here you guys are, best friends once again.” Jevon slammed his locker shut and started walking with Derek to the door.

“Yeah. Something just brought us together again.”

Before Jevon could ask anything more, they heard a teammate ask them, “So you two aren’t gonna tell us what the hell has been going on?”

Jevon and Derek turned around looking confused.

“You two have been avoiding each other every day for the past two weeks, and suddenly everything is okay again?” Another teammate spoke up.

“Guys it was just a little…break.” Derek tried to laugh it off.

“Yeah,” Jevon added, “Just needed some time apart.

“Okay love birds, glad the married couple is on good terms again.” The whole locker room agreed jokingly and laughed, returning to their own business. Jevon felt himself tense up at the statement, and with a short glance at Derek, he saw that he had tensed up too.

With a small push, Jevon just laughed and said, “Let’s go. If I remember correctly, Chante doesn’t like waiting.”

“Right.” Derek laughed, too. Then they started on the topic of school, neither of them wanting to bring up any awkward topics yet.

When they reached Chante, who was leaning on Jevon’s car with a book in her hand, they threw their stuff into the car. Then Chante said, “Fuck! We forgot to get the Spanish assignment, Derek!”

                “God dammit.”

“Y’all go get it, I’ll pull around and pick you up,” Jevon said, “It’s not a big deal.”

“Okay cool, we’ll be right back!” Chante assured, pulling Derek along with her.

As he watched Derek go along with Chante, Jevon just smirked and turned to get into the driver’s seat.

“So that’s him. Yeah, he’s pretty attractive.” Jevon froze.

Opening the door and sitting down in the passenger’s seat, Shane smiled at him.

“You guys make quite the pair.”

“What are you doing here?” Jevon asked, turning the car on and being careful to avoid Shane’s eyes.

“Nothing. Just saying hey. You know, seeing how you’re doing,” Shane playfully said as he looked around at the interior of the car.

                “Really?”

“No.” Shane laughed. “Well, sort of. I wanted to apologize for yesterday. i had my own selfish reason for doing what I did. Plus, I came to see the guy that made you gay.”

He was speaking so casually, almost sounding a little perky. But the perky felt…fake? Ingenuine?

                “I’m not gay,” Jevon snapped.

“No dude. I’m not gay. You. You’re gay.”

“How the fuck am I gay when you’re the one who hit on me?” Jevon asked, not really angry just a little confused by the Asian boy sitting in his car.

“I’m not gay. I’ve never really been interested in anyone, actually. The only relationships I have are for a reason. The only sex I have is for a reason. Including yesterday. If you remember correctly, I didn’t even get hard. Not because you aren’t attractive, but because I’m not into dudes.” Shane’s voice remained the same happy and casual it had been this whole time. “But we’re not talking about me. We’re talking about you and your boyfriend.”

Shane motioned in the direction that Derek had left, and Jevon felt himself get defensive. “Shut up. It’s not like that, because we’re not gay.”

“Look, maybe you’re not gay. Which you are. But your friend is most definitely gay.” Shane sighed and stepped out of the car. “Listen, I’m just saying that if you ever decide that you are gay, you should hurry up and make your move.”

Then as he turned and walked away casually, he waved and said with a little more seriousness, “If you feel like confessing your ultra gayness, I’m here to listen.”

Jevon just sat there. He didn’t really know what to say. So, deciding to forget about it, he put the car in drive and pulled around to pick up his two friends.

They were all piled up on his bed, playing Mario Kart like they used to when they were kids. Chante had beaten them five times already, and as the game console shouted “Winner!” once again, she jumped up and down on the bed shouting, “Suck it bitches!”

Then she jumped off the bed and walked to the door saying, “I’m gonna take a break from beating your asses and go make me some food.”

And then she was gone, and Jevon and Derek were laughing. Deciding to take a break from the game, they turned on Family Guy and sat in silence. Derek sprawled onto his stomach at the bottom of the bed while Jevon sat cross-legged next to him. Jevon couldn’t stop thinking about Shane and what he’d said. He looked nervously at the white boy next to him. He wanted to say something, but then he didn’t at the same time.

He found himself observing everything about the boy. He noticed how Derek’s hair was messy as always, but it still looked amazing. And his hair lightly brushed down over his forehead, barely reaching his eyes. Jevon watched as Derek’s eyes brightened every time he laughed. How as he laughed, his shoulders shook ever so lightly. Then Jevon found his eyes wandering down the arch in his back, carefully examining the toned muscles throughout his body.

Then he felt himself ask the question that he’d been wanting to ask for hours, and he immediately wished that he hadn’t.

                “Are you gay?”

Derek didn’t even move. He just continued watching Family Guy. Then, when Jevon was about to ask again, Derek answered, “I think.”

                “You think?”

                “I think.”

And that was that. He wasn’t going to get anything more out of him. Jevon felt something inside him change. He felt like he had something to say. Like maybe he wanted to tell Derek something.

“Derek?” When he heard a grunt he continued, “We just got beat in Mario Kart six times by a girl.”

That was definitely not what he wanted to say. But it was the only thing that came out.

“Yeah,” Derek laughed, “Aren’t we pansies.”

“Practically have vaginas.” The two laughed again and started talking about the episode of Family Guy that was on when Chante walked back in with popcorn and a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew.
“Alright bitches! Prepare to get your asses whooped in Black Ops!” The two boys laughed and pulled the girl down onto the bed with them.

It had been a long day. A good one, but long. In silence, Jevon lied face down on his bed, looking at a piece of paper with numbers on it. After a couple of phone calls, he’d managed to get the number in his hand, and now he didn’t know what to do with it. Slowly he sat up and punched the numbers into his phone.

After ringing a few times, he heard a click and then a familiar voice say, ‘Hello?’

Taking a deep breath, Jevon exhaled and said, “Hey Shane. It’s Jevon.”

                ‘Hey, is something wrong?’

“Yes. No. Something’s wrong with me.”

‘Well what is it?’ He heard Shane turn his TV off.

                “I’m gay.”

Chapter 1: Well, fuck.

Derek POV (3rd Person)

Beeping. As he was pulled into consciousness, Derek Mitchell heard the loud obnoxious beeping erupting from his alarm clock. Time for another wonderful day at school.

Dragging himself out of bed, he strode half naked to the bathroom, wearing only boxers and a bandage wrapped around his left hand. Taking a second to look at himself in the mirror, he sighed. His hazel eyes looked tired, and his brunette hair was scattered in every which way. Tiredly, he proceeded to take his shower. The water was hot and felt good on his exhausted body. It woke him up, alerting him to what day it was. Today was the first round of state game. He was on the basketball team, but unfortunately a fractured wrist had him benching the next couple of games. The team would have to get by without their point guard. All he could do now was cheer on the rest of his team and pray that his best friend, Jevon Johnson, would be able to lead the team without him.

After scarfing down a bagel and grabbing his stuff, he ran out to the bus that was about to pull off without him. He sighed as the doors shut behind him.

“Derek!” he heard the perky voice of Lexy, his…. friend? He didn’t really know what they were. He didn’t really care either. They talked, they flirted, and they’d recently had sex. She wasn’t his first, but he was pretty sure that he was hers. She’d been a little more attached since then. He sat next to her and kissed her shortly on the lips.

“So! You excited?” She asked, pouting slightly from his pulling away from the kiss.

“Excited? To sit on the bench and cheer? Let me tell you about it,” he stated sarcastically.

“Now now, don’t be such a downer Derek.” Derek looked up and saw Jevon taking the seat opposite him. “Look at the bright side, your white ass will get to cheer for me.”

The tall, caramel-skinned boy grinned and pretended he was shooting a basketball in midair.

“You had to add white in there, didn’t you?” Derek laughed.

“Of course. You’re the milk to my chocolate, dude. The preppy to my urban. The white boy that balances out my black-ness.” Jevon pointed at his body.

“Whatever. If you don’t win tonight, I’ll personally kick your ass,” Derek stated matter-of-factly.

“I’m so scared, your bandage makes you look so bad ass,” Jevon teased through a grin.

“Hey would you guys stop flirting, I’m starting to feel lonely,” Lexy joked in a pouty tone.

Jevon smiled a fake grin at her, then put his arm around Derek and pulled him in closer. Then he said, “What! Did Dere-Bear not tell you? he and I are in love now.”

As the group of friends laughed, Derek pushed Jevon away with a smirk.

The rest of the day went as usual. Classes were normal with all the learning. Friends joked and laughed all day. The only difference was that the student body that was usually deprived of any school spirit was excited for the game tonight, and the hallways were draped in purple and white in celebration of the game.

Finally the bell rang, releasing the students from final period. There were a couple of hours until the game, and the basketball team would usually chill in the locker room until then. Derek had managed to get Lexy to go home until the game, and walked into the locker room sighing deeply.

“How’s the arm?” he heard one of his teammates ask.

“It feels fine, but you know how everyone will act if I try and use it,” he sighed again. He was doing a lot of sighing today.

“Damn, what are we gonna do without your points?” Some of them groaned.

“You’re going to suck it up and score more than I would have if I was in the game,” Derek said throwing a bunch of towels at them and laughing. “By the way, where’s Jevon?”

The group exchanged looks and everyone shrugged. “Haven’t seen him.”

Derek knew where he was. There were only three places Jevon would ever purposefully spend more than ten minutes in. his bedroom, the locker room, and an old tree house down the street that the two of them would play in as kids.

When he had reached the tree house, he saw Jevon lying down staring at the ceiling. He looked like something was wrong, which worried Derek because Jevon was never depressed.

“Something up?” he asked casually, lying down next to Jevon.

No answer. Instead, they just sat there in silence. Derek was okay with that. It was comfortable, and it gave him a chance to doze off a little. He had almost fallen asleep when

“Are you and Lexy going out now?”

The question had caught Derek off guard. Jevon never talked about Lexy. He never talked about any girl that Derek talked to. But especially not Lexy, seeing as he hated her for some unknown reason.

“Not really. We’ve hooked up. It’s nothing serious,” Derek let out.

After a minute or so of silence, Jevon responded, “You should tell her that. She’s been telling people you’re her boyfriend.”

Derek responded with a grunt-like hum. Then when Jevon had stopped talking for too long again, he sat up. “Okay. What’s up with you?”

“Nothing.” Jevon sat up opposite of Derek and shrugged. “Just tired I guess.”

“Well snap out of it!” Derek snapped and pushed him down, hovering over him slightly. “Maybe I should go get one of your girls to come up here and cheer you up!”

Chuckling, Jevon just looked to the side. “I don’t like any of those girls.”

“Really? None of them? Not even Keri? You sure fucked her plenty of times.” Derek laughed. He went to move away, but Jevon held his arms in place so that he stayed hovered above him.

“When you’re horny, you don’t really care who is blowing you,” he said through grinning teeth. “But none of those girls ever got my dick to rise. There’s only one person who ever really has.”

“Say it isn’t so. The great playboy Jevon found someone special. Who is it?” Derek teased, clearly not sensing anything strange.

After staying quiet for another few moments, Jevon rolled over so that he had Derek pinned to the ground. “You always were so dense.”

Derek looked up at Jevon, who was staring at him intently. Then he said, “We should probably head back to the locker room.”

“No. I need my spirits lifted.”

“What is up with you toda- whoa! What the fu-!”

Derek stopped mid-sentence as he felt a hard bulge press against his own member.

“Like I said, you were always so dense.” Jevon whispered into his ear as he grinded roughly against his best friend.

“Dude. Get off. Stop messing around!” Derek tried to push his friend off, but suddenly lost his strength when he felt soft lips followed by a tongue on his neck. A shiver ran through his spine. “Stop it!”

Then there were hands on his stomach, stroking him up and down. He felt the tongue that had previously occupied his neck on his ear now. Then he felt the sudden pressure of a hand on his dick through his jeans. Derek quickly kneed Jevon in the stomach, pushed him off, and backed up.

“What the fuck was that?! Some sort of joke? It wasn’t funny!” Derek shouted, his face flushed. He didn’t even know how to feel right now. The shock throughout his body was too prevalent to let any other emotion in.

Jevon looked at him normally as if he hadn’t just molested him, and then said, “You seemed to be enjoying it.”

“What the fu-” But Derek quickly shut up as he realized that his own dick had turned hard somewhere in the middle of everything.

Feeling all the blood run to his face, he quickly got up, jumped from the tree, and ran off back to the locker room.

Derek nearly knocked the door down as he entered the locker room. Everyone looked at him backwards. He just sat down and stared at the floor.

What the fuck! What the fuck! What the holy mother of god fuck!….. What just happened? What had gotten into Jevon? He’d joked around about flirting and stuff before, but he’d never done that! And why hadn’t he? ‘Cause neither of them were gay!

Then Derek put the pieces together. Jevon always had a lot of girls, but he never got too intimate with them. He was always flirting with him. He had a strange hatred for Lexy. The whole calling him dense thing! Derek had known the boy for 7 years and never once had he noticed anything strange and yet now it was obvious.

“Hey Derek, why you blushing? You like what you see in here?” the team joked, most of them half naked from changing into uniforms.

“I’m not fucking gay! So shut your damn mouths and actually try focusing on the mother fucking game we have!” Derek snapped, leaving the room and slamming the door behind him.

Breathe. He needed to breathe. There was absolutely no way that Jevon could have been into dudes this whole time without him noticing. It just wasn’t logical.

Pushing the thought far from his mind, he grabbed a basketball and went to the elementary school park to shoot some hoops. No one would see him, no one would bother him, and he wouldn’t get nagged at about using his arm.

But as he shot around, all he could think about was the feeling from earlier. It had felt…. amazing. NO! It was awkward and weird and not cool. If it wasn’t cool, then why’d you have a boner? His conscious asked him in Jevon’s voice.

Finally, he just sat down in the middle of the pavement and sighed again. The game would start soon. He had to get back. And he had to talk to Jevon. This would all be cleared up. Jevon wasn’t gay, he was just playing a joke on him earlier. And he wasn’t gay, or hard earlier. It was cold or something. He picked up the ball and returned to the locker room.

“You done being an ass?” he was welcomed with when he walked through the doors.

“Yeah, sorry about earlier. Had a little… freak out.”

“We noticed. But it’s passed now. Jersey up.”

He sighed and put on his jersey, number 5. He stared at his number for a moment, actually forgetting everything that had happened today and thinking about his hurt arm. Then he was pulled roughly from his thoughts as he heard a couple lockers slam and laughing erupted from next to him. One of the laughs he recognized quickly. He looked up and saw Jevon grinning and throwing a towel at one of his teammates. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, and Derek saw every toned muscle from his abs to his arms. He looked….. a way that he shouldn’t look to his best friend.

Derek mentally slapped himself. What was wrong with him? He needed to snap out of it.

Walking up to Jevon, Derek asked simply, “Can we talk?”

“Sure,” Jevon said. Following Derek to a corner of the locker room where no one would hear them. “What’s up?”

“It’s about earlier…” Derek started, but drifted off into silence.

“What about it?” Jevon asked, cluelessness clearly evident on his face.

“Well, I think we should talk about what happened.”

“Nothing happened. I was a little high and decided to play a prank on you. I didn’t realise how stupid the prank was until the high had worn off, though!” he laughed at himself. “Sorry, though.”

Derek just stood there. Was it really a joke after all? He should be relieved. Was he? It almost felt like…. disappointment?

                “We good?” Jevon asked.

“Yeah, of course,” Derek exclaimed, snapping back to reality.

“Cool, well I gotta get dressed.” Jevon strode off to finish getting dressed, leaving Derek there.

He didn’t know why, but for some reason he suddenly felt strange. He didn’t know what it was, but he decided to put it far from his mind and concentrate on the task at hand.

Cheers erupted from the stands as the buzzer sounded. They had won. By quite a bit, too. Jevon had a career high of 28 points. They had already showered and gotten changed by the time Jevon and Derek finally spoke to each other directly again.

                “Good game,” Derek said.

“Thanks,” Jevon replied, “So am I still coming over tonight?”

                “Sure, why wouldn’t you be?”

“No reason, just checking,” he answered. Then Jevon did something that Derek wasn’t sure he’d seen him do before. He skipped away, in a perky cheerful way.

Cute. He thought as he smiled to himself. Then, registering what he’d just thought, he mentally smacked himself. Oh shit, that was gay.

The whole night was good. Really good. Jevon and Derek spent the whole night playing video games and eating, and laughing it up just like they always had. Everything had been let go and they were enjoying being buds again. They were even already joking about the whole thing. Derek of course had once again come to the conclusion that he was NOT gay.

Finally putting the controllers up, they turned out the light to go to sleep. Both of them were lying in Derek’s bed, each with their own covers.

“Try not to molest me in my sleep alright,” Derek warned Jevon jokingly.

“But it would just be so tempting, I’ll try my best,” Jevon responded sarcastically.

It didn’t take long for Derek to drift off. He felt his eyelids getting heavier and heavier, and then finally they dropped over his eyes and he was asleep.

Then he felt it. The soft caresses running up his thigh. He moaned softly. Then his eyes shot open when he felt the hand replaced with a tongue. He quickly looked down to see Jevon licking his way up his leg. Panic shook through him as he went to pull away. But he stopped short. Instead he just looked at Jevon, and then said, “I thought we were done with this.”

Jevon just chuckled. “We both know that you don’t really want it to be over.”

Before Derek could respond, Jevon shifted himself over top of him and pressed their lips together. Derek didn’t kiss him back at first, until he felt the warm tongue press through into his mouth. It flicked his own tongue playfully until he finally kissed back, and the fight for dominance over the kiss started. Grinning into the kiss, Jevon began grinding in a familiar fashion on top of him.

“Feel my dick? It’s hard just for you,” Jevon whispered into his ear.

And that was all it took. Derek’s own cock stiffened, only this time there were no jeans to hold it back. The only thing separating the two boys’ shafts were two very thin layers of boxer shorts. He wanted more. He needed more.

“Jevon…. hurry up and-” he stopped, realizing what he was about to say.

Jevon just smiled up at him and pecked his lips softly. “What is it? Do you want something?”

The boner in his pants was hurting now, throbbing for the other boy’s touch.  That seductive voice was too overwhelming.

“Just say it, and I’ll do it. Or maybe we should stop.” Jevon sat up, preparing to get off of his best friend.

“No! Just…” Derek felt his face burning. He couldn’t say it.

“You can say it. It’ll turn me on,” Jevon whispered again.

Taking a short breath, Derek mumbled, “Fuhbnmi.”

“I’m sorry? I couldn’t hear you,” Jevon asked teasingly, lowering himself back down onto his embarrassed friend.

“I said I want you to fuhbnmi.” Derek whispered slightly louder.
“What was that?” Jevon breathed into his ear.

“Would you just hurry up and fuck me!” Derek shouted, grinding himself up into the opposite boy’s groin.

“Of course I will.” Jevon grinned deviously and roughly kissed Derek again.

Derek was overpowered by the alluring boy’s tongue. He tensed when he felt a slightly callused hand brush under his boxers and wrap around his shaft. But his whole body relaxed as the hand began teasing the groin. Jevon pulled and pumped, sending sparks of pleasure throughout Derek’s body. He tried to moan, but Jevon bit his lip lightly to keep him from doing so. As the kisses became longer and deeper, Jevon’s hand quickened its pace. When Jevon’s other hand was felt messaging his balls, Derek released himself from the kiss and moaned loudly.

“Jevon!…..I’m!” he managed to gasp out.

“Go ahead. I’ll eat it up when you do.” Jevon whispered, biting his lip again.

Derek’s whole body jerked forward, grinding into Jevon’s hand in order to ride out his orgasm. Jevon felt the sticky juices drown his hands. And as Derek watched the teenager while panting, said teenager brought his hand up to his mouth and licked it slowly.

Then, grinning, he nuzzled into Derek’s neck and said, “Next time I’ll blow you, too.”

Derek’s eyes shot open. His face was drenched in sweat, and his whole lower area was drenched in his own fluids. He looked over at the boy next to him. Still asleep. Taking a deep breath, he sat up and ran his fingers through his hair. It was time to admit it.

I’m gay. For my best friend. Then he sighed his deepest sigh so far. And it took a wet dream to finally admit to myself. Pathetic had finally been achieved.

Flopping back onto his pillow, he attempted to get some sleep that didn’t involve dreaming about the teenager sleeping right next to him.

Derek was groggy and irritated. He had the pleasure of starting off his morning by waiting until Jevon went to go take a shower so that he could clean up his mess from the previous night. Then, after pouring cereal into a bowl, he realized that there was no milk in the house. So taking the bowl of dry cereal upstairs to his room, he turned on the TV. Of course, the only thing on was Dora and infomercials, so he chose Dora. But none of this was what made his morning the crap fest it was. Without any warning at all, Jevon barged into his bedroom wearing his towel around his neck and letting everything hang out. Instant boner. Derek had to practically kick him out of the room and yell at him to put clothes on. Then, as if god hadn’t already made it clear that he hated him, there was no more hot water when Derek took his shower. Life basically sucked.

Life sucked. It was Saturday. On weekends, Derek and Jevon always did the same thing. They spent it at one house, working out all day and going out at night. Derek was in agony. Now he noticed every little thing that made Jevon the gorgeously sculpted jock he was. All day, Jevon walked around in his basketball shorts that hugged his lean hips perfectly. He decided not to wear any shirt either, which left his six pack and muscular arms exposed.

Other than the occasional staring, Derek was able to stop himself from drooling over the Adonis currently sitting in his workout room with him. They both acted normally, but in Derek’s head there was nothing but chaos. He was still trying to adjust to the fact that he was gay now. Or Bi. Or whatever the hell he was. And one of the worst things about this whole new realization- I was on the bottom. I was the chick, the fuck?!

“Are you okay dude?” Jevon asked him from a tread mill in the corner.

Snapping out of his head and continuing with his reps, Derek asked, “What do you mean?”

“I mean. You’ve been staring at me weird all day. And you’ve been acting kind of strange since yesterday.”

“No I haven’t,” was all Derek could say.

After staring at him for a good minute or so, Jevon pressed a button on the tread mill and it slowed to a stop. Then, taking a sip from his water bottle, Jevon asked, “You sure? Is your arm hurting?” When Derek nodded a ‘no’, he continued, “It wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with the joke from yesterday would it?”

“No.” Derek didn’t want to talk about it. Talking about it brought him back to the spine-chilling thrill he got when Jevon had touched him.

                “Okay good.”

They both sat in silence for a while, until Derek almost shouted, “But what made you think of a joke like that?!”

Jevon didn’t answer at first. He just looked away. Then he turned and looked straight at the boy, brown eyes locking with Derek’s blue eyes. “It wasn’t really a joke. I just wanted to see how you’d react.”

“Why the hell would you do something like that?!” Derek asked, even more confused now.

“Because….. I don’t know. You’re sexy. I’m attracted to you,” he sounded so casual saying it all. Then slowly and quietly he murmured, “I’m pretty sure that I might be…into dudes.”

No one said anything. The only sound they could hear was SpongeBob laughing from the other room. Derek didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know how to respond. Should he admit his own feelings? Should he be disgusted? Shout he be pissed that Jevon never said anything? He was at a loss for what to think.

“Anyway… let’s just go out tonight like usual. Forget about this conversation.” Jevon stated.

And that’s exactly what they did. They got ready, and then they want out to a club. At the club, they normally stay together. But tonight they drifted off to do their own things. And then at the end of the night, they were silent as they drove back to Derek’s house. They were silent still as they changed and got into bed and turned out the light. “Goodnight” being the only words they’d said to each other in the past few hours.

But it didn’t take long for Derek to feel the need. He felt a tingling in his groin. God dammit it all! When he tried to think it away, the only image that popped into his head was the image of a sweaty Jevon glistening and working out to the rhythm of whatever music was playing. Suddenly he felt his dick go stiff, and he just sat there thinking. Oh shit. Shit shit shit shit! What do I do?

Deciding to go to the bathroom to relieve himself, he sat up and went to crawl over Jevon to get off the bed. But then he stopped before crawling all the way over. Why should he go jack off in the shower? The object of his desire was laying right here asleep. Suddenly lost in his own actions, Derek positioned himself comfortably over his best friend. Then, pulling down the boy’s boxers, he took in the sight beneath him. There was no going back now.

He needed to wake him up first, though. Then almost instinctively, like he’d done this before (though he hadn’t), Derek took the shaft into his hand and leaned forward. He lightly kissed the tip, and then dragged his tongue along the underside of the cock, starting from the balls and going all the way to the tip. Immediately, almost simultaneously, Jevon’s eyes shot open and his dick hardened.

“What the hell are you doing?” he asked Derek groggily, not fully realizing the situation.

“I’m going to fuck you more than you’ve ever been fucked in your life. And then you’re going to fuck me until I’m screaming your name,” Derek answered matter-of-factly, not a stutter in his words.

Now Jevon was fully awake, eyes wide in shock. But as Derek bent back down and continued licking the hard cock and then taking it into his mouth, Jevon began to relax and grinned.

“Whatever you say dude,” was all he could say before the intense pleasure of Derek deep throating him took over. Moans escaped his mouth as he bucked his hips forward roughly, riding out his first orgasm of the night.

With a giant yawn, Derek sat up and observed his surroundings. What happened? He couldn’t remember a thing. It was as if the last couple days had just passed by in one big blur. What he did know was that he felt great. Better than he’d felt in a long time. He also knew it was Sunday, which is when he and Jevon usually went to the gym. Jevon. Suddenly, Derek looked next to him and saw his best friend, still sleeping soundly, naked under the same cover as him. Then he realized that he was naked, too. And like a flash of lightening it all came back to him. Everything that had happened the last couple days. Everything that had happened last night. The great feeling he’d had when he woke up suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a feeling of….guilt? Regret? Anxiety? He didn’t know what it was. All he knew was that it wasn’t a pleasant feeling.

I just fucked a guy. I just fucked my best friend! If you could call it fucking. There was a lot of licking and sucking, and pulling and such things, but no penetration of any kind. But that wasn’t the point right now! His mind was frantically trying to figure out what to do. He felt dirty. He felt wrong. It was wrong. This wasn’t normal. Then Derek did the only thing he could think to do at that moment. He got up, got dressed, and left the house. All with Jevon still sleeping naked in Derek’s bed.

There was only one place Derek felt like going. He knocked on the door once. When no one answered he rang the doorbell. When there was still no answer, he repeatedly kicked the door.

“What the fuck?!” Chante Evans exclaimed finally opening the door. She’d obviously just woken up, seeing as her black waves weren’t brushed and she was only wearing a T-shirt and panties. “What is your problem?” She added, rubbing her eyes.

“Can I come in?” Derek asked, walking by her as she stepped aside.

Noticing the panic in his words, she locked the door and they went up to sit on her bed. “What’s wrong?”

Derek didn’t say anything at first as he just stared at the mixed girl before him. Then he picked up the remote and turned on Spongebob, motioning for Chante to come lay down with him. Snuggling up to him, she said, “If you’re not gonna tell me what’s wrong, I’m gonna kick you in the balls for waking me up.”

Derek grinned a little. This was why he loved her; she always made him happy in any situation. “I’ve missed you,” was all he said.

“It has been a long time. We haven’t actually hung out in what? A year and something.” Chante stated, not looking at him and instead focusing on the screen in front of them. When she felt him tense up next to her, she added, “I’ve missed you, too.”

                “Where are your parents?”

                “Church.”

                “Not you?”

“It hasn’t been so long that you should have forgotten where I stand on the Jesus matter.” She grinned up at him. After a few moments of silence between the two, Derek blurted out, “Can we be friends again?”

                “I didn’t know we’d stopped.”

“No. I mean actually be friends. Like when we used to sneak out just to go out to the swings, or when we wanted to get drunk for the first time and stole all that beer, but then we just poured it out anyway because we hated the taste.” Derek moved away from her so that he was sitting opposite her.

Giggling, she just looked at him and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I did something wrong,” he answered, suddenly becoming fascinated with his hands. “Something disgusting. I feel dirty. I don’t know what to do. I tried to take a shower and the feeling didn’t go away. And I can’t stop thinking about last night when it happened.”

“Hey hey. Slow down. If you didn’t like it the why’d you do it?”

“That’s just it. I wanted it. I loved it! It was amazing. The most amazing feeling I’ve felt in a long time. But it’s wrong. I feel dirty because it’s wrong that I loved it.” he confessed, still staring down at his hands.

“What…did you do?” She asked slowly, not sure if he would actually tell her.

“I can’t. I can’t tell you. You’ll look at me different. I can’t go through that again with you.”

“When have I ever looked at you differently?! I’ve always been there for you!” She said, suddenly feeling defensive.

“You started looking at me like you were disgusted with me,” he mumbled.

“When?! When exactly did i do this?” The anger was apparent in her voice.

                “When I started fucking girls.”

They both stayed quiet for a second. Then Chante spoke up, “I wasn’t looking at you different because I was disgusted with you. I was disappointed because…you never looked happy.”

When he didn’t say anything, she continued. “I love you Dere-Bear. You’re my best friend even now. I’d never be disgusted with something you did. And I will always be on your side.”

Derek still stayed silent. Then he picked up the remote and clicked the TV off.

“Last night Jevon and I had sex.”

Derek saw Chante’s eyes widen. He felt it coming. The judgmental glare. The disgust in her voice. Of course she would hate him now. Looking back down at his hands, he closed his eyes to wait for it.

“Really?” Chante asked. But there was no hate or disgust in her voice. Just curiosity.

Looking back up at her, he shook his head up and down in response.

“Wow… and you liked it? Legitly liked it? Holy mother fucker I never would have guessed that. And I see gay in everyone!” She giggled. Then she grasped his hand in her own, and looked him straight in the eyes. “There is nothing wrong with you.”

Derek felt himself exhale, which he found strange ‘cause he didn’t even know he had been holding his breath. Then he grabbed the girl before him in a giant hug and whispered, “I love you.”

For the rest of the morning, they just talked. Talked about the past year and something that they hadn’t really talked. They talked about their new hobbies and fascinations. Chante went on about her “mental issues” as she liked to call them. They involved her new obsession with gay boys, her addiction to fan fiction, and her addiction to writing her own stories. Derek on the other hand talked mainly about his sports. He told her about his classes, and then he went on to tell her about Jevon hitting on him and the wet dream that ensued afterward. The two of them made pancakes, danced around, and acted as if they had never stopped talking. Finally, after her parents had returned from church, Chante pushed Derek out of the house with a giant bag of chips in hand. They went straight to the playground and sat on the swings.

Mouth full of chips, Chante finally turned and asked, “So…what are you gonna do?”

Derek just filled more chips into his own mouth and waited to answer until after he swallowed. “I don’t know. What should I do?”

“I can’t answer that for you.” then after hearing a groan from exhaustion come from next to her, she added, “Do you even want to do anything about it? You’re taking it a lot easier than most guys i knew who went through this. You might not even be gay, you might have just been flustered by his flirting and it felt different so you were attracted to that different feeling. You can either ignore it and somehow get through the awkwardness that will be between you and Jevon. I’ll be there to help you through that. Or you can embrace that you’re a homo, and I am fully prepared to take on the role of your fag hag.”

Derek laughed; it was obvious that she would prefer the latter. Then he said, “You know, I’m not that bummed about it anymore. After talking to you it just doesn’t seem as bad as it did before. I think…. I wanna be with him.”

“Really?” her voice was somewhere between excitement and shock. Then you should probably get home and explain to Jevon why he woke up alone.”

Realization hit Derek like a bomb. He’d completely forgotten that little detail. Jumping off the swing, he was about to run when he suddenly felt himself stop and turn around.  “Will u come with me?”

“As much as my strange fascination with gays would probably cause me to enjoy the beautiful homo love that would ensue, it would probably be best if i didn’t,” she said.

Derek put on his best puppy face and began to pout.

                “Fine, but I’m waiting outside.”

Derek instantly brightened. They held hands and stayed quiet the rest of the walk to his house.

Taking a deep breath, Derek stepped into his house. Chante stayed outside on the porch, sitting on the rail as she looked at the cars of his parents currently parked in his driveway next to Jevon’s car. There was a little steam still coming off of the hoods, which meant they hadn’t been home long. Still, she worried how well everything would go with them in the house.

“Hey honey, where were you?” Derek was slightly taken aback when he heard his mom. He had completely disregarded the cars in the driveway.

“I went out for a jog. Even if I’m benched, I gotta stay in shape.” he smiled at his parents. They both smiled back. Thinking he was in the clear, he started back up the stairs when he heard his mom again.

“Where’s Jevon sweetie? He was here last night, wasn’t he?”

“Yeah, he was still asleep. He’s probably just in the shower or something,” Derek answered. Then he hopped the last few step and quickly went to his room before his mom could ask any more questions.

When he reached his room, he quickly shut the door behind him and locked it. Jevon was currently pulling on clothes, still glistening slightly from an obvious shower he’d probably just taken.

“Good. You’re still here,” Derek breathed a sigh a relief.

“Where else would I be?” Jevon asked, laughing slightly.

“Listen about last night…um” Derek started to talk, but stopped for a moment to organize his thought.

“What about last night?” Jevon asked, sounding completely clueless as he continued to get dressed.

                “Well… after we had sex-“

“What are you talking about?” Jevon asked, cutting him off.

“Last night. After we got home. We had sex, Jevon.” Derek stated.

“No. We didn’t. What? You having wet dreams about me now dude?” Jevon laughed it off, throwing the towel he was finished with at Derek playfully.

                “I wasn’t dreaming Jevon. We… did things-“

“We didn’t do a god damn thing!” Jevon shouted, finally stopping what he was doing and looking Derek in the eyes.

“Why are you trying to pretend that nothing happened? Jevon, it’s okay if you’re gay,” Derek tried to reason with him.

Suddenly he felt a fist collide with his stomach and he was pushed back against the door. Pinning Derek to the wall with his arm against his neck, Jevon stated fiercely, “Nothing fucking happened. Do you hear me? I am not! A goddamn fag! Get that through your head.”

Pulling Jevon’s arm off of him, Derek shouted, “I want… this! Us! Okay? You can’t just erase what happened last night!”

“Nothing fucking happened! And the only reason I would have even touched you was because I was drunk as fuck!”

Taking a breath, Derek walked up to his friend and grabbed his shoulder.

“Don’t touch me!” Jevon roughly shrugged his hand off. “I’m not a fucking fag! Now stop acting like a homo, stay the fuck away from me today, and get your ass to school tomorrow acting normal again.”

As he stared at the wall opposite him, Derek heard his bedroom door slam shut, a shocked Chante asking what was wrong, and then a car pull out of the driveway and speed off.

A sense of… panic? Anxiety? He didn’t know what it was. All he knew was that he was finding it hard to breathe suddenly. And he felt tears forming in his eyes, but nothing was coming out when he blinked. Rushing through his house, he ignored his worried mom’s questions and ran outside straight into Chante’s arms.

“Derek what happened? Derek!” Chante tried to get a response, but got nothing. So instead of talking, she just grabbed his hand and began guiding him back to the swings.

He followed without resistance, and mumbled, “I’m not a fag, Chante. It was just my imagination. Too much drinking.”

When he stopped talking, she just wrapped her arm into his and continued walking silently.

Good? Bad? Like? Don’t? :) P.S. The story is not just about gay people. Plenty of Hetero as well.
